HEAL stands for Honest Education Action and Leadership. We develop strong organizing skills, increase civic engagement, and improve voter education that starts at the school board level and builds up to statewide power.
Our vision for the future is one where every student attends strong public schools that are free of hate and division, and where quality educators are equipped to provide all our children with the skills, knowledge, and support they need to thrive.
We also know that public education is both the foundation and the training ground for democracy. Opponents of democracy also understand this and that is why they spend millions of dollars trying to sow division in communities while pushing school vouchers and other policies aimed to privatize and dismantle public education. We believe the work to defend and strengthen our democracy starts in our communities at the school district level by organizing our communities to fight for strong public education for all students.
Race Forward Action launched HEAL To Win 501(c)(4) in partnership with Opportunity Action. This work builds upon the HEAL Together initiative led by Race Forward.
